Since 2006, Síntese – GMC has been organizing the “Síntese” festival.
Most of the new music written for Síntese – GMC was premiered at this festival.
Several chamber groups and solosists have performed at this festival. Among others, Christophe Desjardins, Proxima Centauri, Ensemble Les Temps Modernes, Vortex Ensemble, Smash Ensemble, Vertixe Sonora, Ensemble L’Imaginaire, Paulo Álvares, Claudio Jacomucci, Erato Alakiozidou, Frauke Aulbert, Magnet Duo, Performa Ensemble, Thelema Trio, Klavier Duo, Marek Keprt, Grupo de Música Contemporânea de Lisboa, Sax Ensemble, collective love music and Zentaur Quartett.
In 2026, the festival will held its 20th Edition, marking also the 20th anniversary of Síntese.
A milestone edition
This year the festival takes on special significance: over two months, from October to November 2026, eight concerts across Castelo Branco, Guarda and Covilhã bring together Síntese, Performa Ensemble, the Grupo de Música Contemporânea de Lisboa, Czech pianist Marek Keprt and the Perdigão Ensemble, closing with the Jovens Talentos CNIC concert — a season-long celebration of two decades dedicated to new music.
